When people ask us for "two rooms" for a few nights, they usually mean this one: our two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. It's the right call when you don't want to share a bathroom and you don't want to share a wall you can hear through. Two couples on a trip together. A family who wants the kids to have their own room and door. Friends splitting the cost of a week in the city. Stay three nights or three weeks, it's your apartment either way.
Here's the honest version of what it is, who it fits, and what's actually inside.
What the two-bedroom, two-bath apartment actually is
It's one apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. Not two hotel rooms with a connecting door. You walk in your own front door, and everyone shares the same living room and kitchen. That's the whole point: you get common space to hang out in and separate rooms to sleep in.
One of the two bathrooms has a bathtub. The other is a shower. So if a soak in the tub matters to you, or you're traveling with a small kid who's easier to bathe than to shower, you're covered, but only one of the two bathrooms has it. Worth knowing before you split up who sleeps where.
Who it fits
Two couples is the cleanest fit. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, nobody negotiating over the shower in the morning. You share a kitchen and a couch and otherwise have your own space.
A family works well too. Parents in one room, kids in the other, and the living room becomes the place everyone lands at the end of the day. If you're coming with a baby, we keep pack 'n plays on hand for free and we'll have one set up before you arrive, so you don't have to travel with a crib.
Friends splitting a longer stay also land here a lot. Over a week or two, having your own bedroom stops being a luxury and starts being the thing that keeps everyone friends.
The kitchen and living room
You get a full kitchen, which is most of the reason to book an apartment instead of a hotel room. Coffee at your own pace in the morning, a real fridge for groceries, the ability to cook a dinner in instead of eating out every night of a long trip. There's a grocery run within a few blocks (we wrote up where to go in a separate post), so you can stock up the day you land.
The living room is a shared room with a couch, not an afterthought. On a group trip that's the difference between everyone retreating to their bedrooms and everyone actually spending the evening together.
Bathrooms, towels, and what we stock
Two bathrooms, and one of them has a tub. We stock fresh towels and Grown Alchemist shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in both. We don't do bathrobes, so if that's part of your routine, pack one. Everything else you'd expect in a bathroom is here.
Getting in, and coming and going
No lobby, no front desk, no key card. We text you the door code before you arrive, and you let yourself in whenever you land. Check-in is usually after 4 PM and check-out is by 11 AM; if you need an early arrival or a late departure we can sometimes make it work for a fee, depending on the day. Come and go as you please once you're in.
Pets are welcome, up to two per reservation, at $100 per pet. If you're bringing a dog on a group trip, tell us ahead of time so the apartment's ready for them.
The block, and Central Park
We're on East 62nd Street in Lenox Hill, on the Upper East Side. Central Park is about an eight-minute walk west through the quiet blocks, which is the best part of staying up here: you're a few minutes from the park and the museums but off the loud avenues. The Roosevelt Island Tram is a couple of minutes east if you want a cheap ride with a river view, and the subway gets you downtown fast when you want the noise.
Midtown's best blocks are the quiet ones, and this is one of them. If you want the two-bedroom for specific dates, message us and we'll tell you straight whether it's open, no pressure.
